The Central Arkansas Speculative Fiction Writers’ Group presents twelve stories of trips that start with disaster. The Road Taken Anyway explores the results of such journeys and will take readers to other planets, parallel universes, and far into the future.


 My own story is about pirates, running away, dream magic, and someone who will appear as the villain in an upcoming full-length novel.

 A rich, diverse collection of short stories inspired by some of Earth's forgotten places. Organised by best-selling author Josh Walker and edited by Angel Blackwood, this collection of inspired stories brings something new and exciting. All proceeds from this anthology will be donated to St Judes Children's Hospital.


My own story is based on Centralia, Pennsylvania and the mine fire that took place there. I draw on the history of the town and the Doctor Faustus story.

My own story is about people who steal souls, a mysterious plague, and one man trying desperately to hold onto his humanity without a soul. This one might be full-length in the future.

My story is about a female assassin in a guild of nothing but women. The world is a cruel place for women, but Millicent, or the Kingmaker, will make it better one dead, corrupted noble at a time.

 Some fears are justified, some are only in your mind.
Sometimes you can overcome your fears, but not this time.
These poor souls are forced to face their worst fears in this collection of seven short stories.

 No one pays attention to the sidekicks, the apprentices, the stable boys, the second class characters, and they're tired of it. Now the ones considered the heroes will become the victims of betrayal; whether deliberate or accidental, it makes no difference.


My story is about Kaleo, a bard who has the worst luck with the heroes he signs contracts to work for. He's fed up with the lousy way Cassander, professional hero, treats him. This is a short story in what I hope to be a full-length comedy fantasy novel.
